Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping Attends the 2nd Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Cultural Parade in New York

On May 21, 2023, Chinese Consul General in New York Huang Ping attended the 2nd Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Cultural Parade in Midtown Manhattan and delivered remarks. U.S. House of Representative Grace Meng, New York State Senator Brian Kavannah, New York State Assembly member Grace Lee and Jenifer Rajkumar, Mayor of New York City Eric Adams, New York City Council member Christopher Marte, and Consuls General of the Republic of Korea, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of India, the Republic of Indonesia,the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal and the People's Republic of Bangladesh in New Yorkattended the event.

Huang Ping said in his remarks that Asian Pacific Americans including Chinese Americans, have long contributed significantly to building up the country. He called on everyone to continue to show solidarity, unite against hatred and racial discrimination, jointly promote respect, friendship, inclusiveness and love, and stand together to embrace a better future! He then announced the commencement of the parade.

The parade is organized by Better China Town USA for the second consecutive year. It is also a major event of the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month 2023. More than 4,000 participants engaged in this parade that attracted nearly 500,000 spectators along the route.
