The Consulate held an open day event themed "Discover China: A Journey through Language and Culture"

On May 6th, the Consulate General of China in New York held an open day event titled "Discover China: A Journey through Language and Culture". Deputy Governor Jiang Erxiong of Fujian Province, Consul General Huang Ping, and James Heimowitz, Senior Advisor for The Center for Language Education and Cooperation and The Chinese International Education Foundation, Honorary Chair of China Institute and chair of Confucius Institute at China Institute, attended and delivered remarks. Deputy Consul General Qian Jin and Counsellor Yu Yougen in charge of the Education Affairs of the Consulate attended the event. Nearly 200 participants, including faculty members and students from 16 colleges and high schools, as well as representatives from various friendly organizations and overseas Chinese associations attended the open day.

Amidst the rich atmosphere of Chinese culture, guests appreciated the distinctive features of Fujian's intangible cultural heritage, exchanged insights on Chinese language learning, discussed the history of China-US exchanges, and reflected on the charm of cultural integration and China-USpeople-to-people friendship.

Visitors also witnessed the unveiling of the thematic photo exhibition titled "Reliving the Good Stories between China and the U.S., Together for a Better Shared Future."
