From July 11 to 12, Consul General Huang Ping visited Providence and New Haven. He met with Mayor Brett Smiley of Providence, visited Mr. and Mrs. Maclnnis, researchers of Kuliang history and culture, and held discussions with experts of the Paul Tsai China Center at Yale Law School and of the Yale-China Association.

Huang Ping briefed on the progress of China-U.S. dialogue and cooperation in various fields since the San Francisco meeting. He said that, as President Xi Jinping noted, the hope of the China-U.S. relationship lies in the people, its foundation is in our societies, its future depends on the youth, and its vitality comes from exchanges at sub-national levels. The stable development of China-U.S. relations cannot be achieved without the exchanges and cooperation at the sub-national levels and the contribution of individuals and organizations of vision. China welcomes people from all walks of life of the US to visit China and gain firsthand experience.

The aforementioned institutions and individuals on the US side warmly welcomed Consul General Huang Ping.
