New York State and Jiangsu Province established sister province/state relations in 1989. New York City and Beijing (1980), Syracuse and Fuzhou city of Fujian(1991), Rome and Xinyu city of Jiangxi (1993), Mount Vernon and Yangquan city of Shanxi (1995), Westchester and Jingzhou city of Hubei (1998), Rochester and Xianyang city of Shaanxi (2006) are sister cities. “The Joint Working Group on Trade and Investment Cooperation between China Provinces and US State of New York” was established between New York State and 6 Chinese provinces and cities including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Yunnan, Beijing and Shanghai in 2016.
