Notice on Additional Appointment Facilitation for Consular Services

To better meet the current needs of consular service applicants, starting from February 20th, 2023, the Chinese Consulate General in New York will provide the following additional facilitation for appointments of passport, travel document and visa application:


1. Online Appointment 


(1) Video interview appointments on the “China Consular Affairs” App for passport and travel application open at 23:00 (summer time 24:00) every working day. Additional appointments for the next working day will further open at 11:00 am of each working day.


(2) Appointments for on-site visa application submission at the Visa Office open at 23:00 (summer time 24:00) every working day. Additional appointments for the next working day will further open at 11:00 am of each working day.


Appointment facilitation arrangements will be continuously adjusted according to applicants’ actual needs.


2. Facilitation for Applications Out of Emergency Humanitarian Needs


Applicants for Chinese passport, travel document and visa out of emergency humanitarian needs (including attending funerals and visiting critically ill relatives) can send the required documents to the corresponding official emails (Material Requirements for Applications Out of Emergency Humanitarian Needs). Eligible applicants will be provided with facilitation including walk-in on-site visa submission and faster passport and travel document processing.
