On October 20, 2025, the Consulate General of China in New York hosted a roundtable forum themed “Honoring Her Strength, Supporting Her Dreams.” Consul General Chen Li attended the event and delivered opening remarks. Nearly 50 distinguished female representatives from various sectors of the consular district gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on women’s empowerment and cross-cultural exchange.

Consul General Chen noted that China recently held the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women in Beijing, where President Xi Jinping put forward a series of important initiatives and measures to accelerate women’s all-round development. Although Chinese and American women come from different cultural backgrounds, both have contributed to social progress through their diligence, wisdom, and resilience. He expressed hope that people from both countries, including women, will continue to enhance exchanges, build mutual understanding, and work together for shared progress.

Participants shared insights on topics such as “Women’s Empowerment” and “The Role of Chinese and American Women in Cross-Cultural Exchange.” They emphasized that women’s strength lies in mutual understanding and support, serving as a vital bridge connecting the hearts of the two peoples, said that the forum echoed the spirit of the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women and showcased the vitality and progress of women’s development in both China and the United States. They expressed hope that women from both countries will continue to play an active role in fostering warmth, inspiration, and cooperation across diverse fields of China-U.S. exchange.
